Mesut Ozil and Mario Gomez celebrate Germany's dramatic win over Sweden

Mesut Ozil's Germany were involved in World Cup action on Saturday night. Scroll down to find out how they got on.

Ozil was an unused substitute as the reigning world champions recorded a dramatic 2-1 win over Sweden in Group F.

Janne Andersson’s Sweden took the lead in the 32nd minute, when Ola Toivonen raced through on goal and delivered a deft chip over the onrushing Manuel Neuer.

But just two minutes into the second half, Germany had levelled the score through Marco Reus, who made no mistake in firing home from close range.

Sweden had shown great defensive resilience, but deep into stoppage time Toni Kroos stepped up for a free-kick and fired the ball into the top right corner 20 yards from goal.

The result means that Germany have climbed up to second in Group F, level on points and goal difference with Sweden.

Ozil will have another opportunity to feature for Germany on Wednesday, when they face South Korea at 3pm (UK time).
