Ox - Fabianski was our FA Cup hero

13/14: Arsenal 1-1 Wigan Athletic - Lukasz Fabianski

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hailed Lukasz Fabianski as Arsenal's "hero" after the Polish goalkeeper helped the Gunners to reach the FA Cup final.

Fabianski saved spot-kicks from Gary Caldwell and Jack Collison to help Arsene Wenger's side to a first FA Cup final in nine years after a tense game against Wigan Athletic side had gone to a penalty shoot-out.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was delighted with the team's character after going a goal down in normal time, and reserved special praise for Fabianski and goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton.

"I've got to give Lukasz all the credit to him," said Oxlade-Chamberlain. "For someone that has been behind the brilliant Wojciech Szczesny this year, whenever he's played for us, he's been absolutely superb. He's the hero for us today. Full credit to him - he's an unbelievable professional.

"Gerry works really hard with the goalkeepers day in, day out. It's people behind the scenes that don't always get as much credit as they deserve. It's a team effort to win games and you've got to give the goalkeeping coach credit but I think you've got to give Lukasz the main credit."
