Martinez - I thought we deserved to win

The late goal scored by Jamie Vardy at Emirates Stadium scuppered Emi Martinez's hopes of a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premie League - and a seventh in nine top-flight starts.

But it didn't detract from another authoritative display from our Argentine goalkeeper.

Here's what Emi said after the match:

on accepting the result...

It was quite difficult to be honest, we were controlling the game in the first half and in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Going down to 10 men it was really difficult against a good side but we deserved to win to be honest.

on Auba's chances of winning the Golden Boot...

Auba is a great striker and hopefully he can catch [Jamie Vardy] up.

on the amount of games played and the bad weather...

Well, you get used to it, in London it always rains so I'm pretty used to the rain. I was disappointed at the result in the end, we should have won the game today.

on reaching the Champions League places...

It is massively important, I think that's our aim. Today our aim was to win to get up [towards] the Champions League [places] but obviously it was very hard and we went down to 10 men, but we need to be proud of ourselves, how we defended, and hopefully we get three points on Sunday.
