WHAT HAPPENED

Our under-18s booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday night with a dramatic late winner against Rotherham United.

Charlie Patino delivered an outstanding performance in midfield and capped it off with a stunner from distance, while Mazeed Ugungbo bounced back from an error to secure the victory.

Rotherham started well on the night with Charlie Smith glancing a header wide, before Brooke Norton-Cuffy had to make an important intervention to cut out the danger.

The hosts then had a penalty claim waved away by the referee, but this sparked us back into life with James Sweet and Omari Hutchinson coming close either side of the break.

We continued to push on in search of an opener, before Patino let fly from distance and found the top corner in style.

Rotherham showed good spirit to bounce back, and found themselves level shortly after following a late challenge from Ogungbo inside the area.

Jerome Greaves stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, but there would be one last twist to the tale, as Ogunbgo redeemed himself by heading home from Hutchinson’s corner in the last minute.
