'We need to just stay calm'

With maximum points and having not conceded so far in this summer's European Championship, host nation Netherlands are off to a strong start.

The Dutch sit top of Group A and are on the cusp of qualification for the knockout rounds, but Vivianne Miedema believes the hosts are under no pressure.

"We are not one of the favourites," Miedema said. "I think Germany, England and France are the ones under pressure to win the tournament, not us.

"We’ve done amazingly in our first two games. We need to just stay calm and keep this feeling because we could then go really far.

"We need to be lucky as well because you don’t know if you’re going to be playing Sweden or Germany next game if we win against Belgium; so we need to take one game at a time."

“I know Scotland had a really bad day when they played but you still saw that England are a good team. Their players have been together a lot and they know each other really well.

"I think that England will do really well at this tournament and that they can go really far. Hopefully we can play England in the semi-final and not any earlier.

"It would be a tough game but I wouldn’t rule us out against England."
