Club disappointed by ticket allocation

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has expressed his disappointment at the number of tickets that both Arsenal and Hull City have been allocated for the FA Cup final.

The Gunners received 49,000 tickets for Saturday’s semi-final at Wembley Stadium after Wigan returned some of their allocation, but will receive 25,000 for the final against Hull City on Saturday, May 17.

Gazidis said: “We are disappointed many of our supporters and also those of Hull City will be unable to get tickets to the cup final.

"The balance in the FA’s allocation system is not right"

"We fully understand this is the showpiece FA fixture to celebrate the game as a whole, but we also believe the loyal supporters of the competing teams deserve a greater chance to see their team play in what is one of the biggest matches of the season. The balance in the FA’s allocation system is not right.

“Arsenal have approximately 45,000 season ticket holders and 150,000 members, many of whom come to games.

"They all give us their loyal support throughout a season but with the FA Cup final allocation at 25,000 there will be many disappointed Arsenal fans, who have supported the Club home and away for years, who will be unable to get a ticket to this historic match.”

Arsenal are planning to screen the FA Cup final live at Emirates Stadium so as many fans as possible can watch the match together. The match will be shown on giant screens in the stadium and fans will be able to watch the action from the lower tiers.

Full information regarding the FA Cup final screening at Emirates Stadium will be communicated as soon as the game at Wembley is declared a sell-out.

Gazidis added: “We want this to be a special day for Arsenal fans wherever they are, and the screening will be a great way for thousands of our supporters who are unable to get to Wembley to watch the match together at Emirates Stadium.”

TICKET ALLOCATION PROCESS

The Club will be given significantly fewer tickets by the Football Association than it received for the semi-final and the 2011 Carling Cup Final. We recognise that demand for tickets from our members will far outweigh our allocation and we have developed our approach based on previous consultation with Supporter Groups.

Policy
The allocation will be based on three basic principles:

1)     Members of the Away Scheme (Away Season Ticket Subscription) will be guaranteed a ticket, provided they are registered members during the relevant season of the particular cup final and so long as they purchase in their priority period.

2)     Platinum and Gold members who have attended three or more away fixtures registered to their current 2013/14 membership, will be guaranteed a ticket as long as they purchase in their priority period. This will be based on the past two consecutive seasons from August 13, 2011 – April 6, 2014.

3)     The majority of tickets will be allocated to the balance of Platinum and Gold Members. Successful applicants will be determined by a random ballot.

Process
The process will be similar to the Carling Cup Final 2011, when a registration process was implemented. Thereafter, successful applicants will have the facility to purchase tickets both online and by telephone. Specific details concerning the registration and purchasing process will be available at the appropriate time.

Tickets for our registered Disabled Platinum and Gold members will be allocated on similar principles as outlined in the above policy.  Full details will be announced once the Club has been advised of the confirmed ticket allocation.
