Saul gave Spain the lead eight minutes into the second half, before Roberto Gagliardini picked up a red card for Italy. Federico Bernadeschi levelled the scores, before two more strikes from Saul ensured Spain’s progression.

Calum Chambers played the full 90 minutes as England were eliminated on penalties against Germany. The game finished 2-2 after extra-time, with Davie Selke opening the scoring. Demarai Gray and Tammy Abraham turned the game on its head, but Felix Platte’s header took the game to extra-time.
