'It was brilliant to score at Emirates'

Eddie Nketiah scored his 23rd goal of the season in 33 appearances as our under-23s drew 2-2 with Manchester United on Monday night.

The 17-year-old scored his sixth goal in 13 Premier League 2 games - and this is what he said to Arsenal Player post-match:

on the game…
I thought the boys did really well in the first half. We made a couple of changes at half-time and I thought they did well in the second half. But we were just a bit unlucky towards the end. The boys got a bit tired and Man United came on. They’re a good team, so a 2-2 result is not too bad.

on scoring his first goal at Emirates Stadium…
It was a brilliant moment. My parents are in the crowd so it’s really nice to get off the mark at Emirates and hopefully it’s the first of many here.

on how he reflects on the Premier League 2 season…
I think it’s been a good season, especially personally for me. I’ve broken into the team, made some good appearances and scored some nice goals. So I’m very pleased with it. As a team, fourth is a respectable position and next year I think we can really push on and challenge for the title.

on next season and his ambitions…
I think next year can be a big year for me personally. I’m trying to have big goals and push into the first team, so hopefully I can have another good season and see where it takes me.
