The Arsenal Fans’ Forum met for the first time this season on Monday evening.

The meeting, which was held virtually, covered a wide range of topics and the minutes will be published here soon.

Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham outlined the club’s approach to getting back to competing for the top trophies, explaining that the summer transfer window was targeted on youth with a focus on players from the academy alongside exciting talent from Europe. He explained the window was impacted by the financial difficulties clubs face as a result of the pandemic, which certainly impacted our outgoings.

He said that he had been impressed how the club stood together during a difficult start to the season and that the support from fans has been outstanding.

Vinai also discussed our approach to women’s football, explaining significant investment has been made in both the squad and off the pitch, under new head coach Jonas Eidevall. Everyone is delighted by the strong start to the season which currently sees us topping the WSL and qualified for the Champions League group stages.

Other areas discussed at the Forum included safe standing (with a working group of fans to be set up in this important area), ticketing and stadium entry delays, issues raised by disabled supporters and the club’s partnership with Socios.
