Cech - The most satisfying aspect of that win

Petr Cech was in inspired form on Sunday as we kept our first clean sheet of the season to beat Everton 2-0.

The legendary goalkeeper made a string of fine saves, and afterwards he told the media what pleased him most about the performance.

on a fifth win in a row...

It is very satisfying because it was a very different game to previous ones. Although we won, we kept a clean sheet, we were suffering in some parts of the game because they are a really good side side and they bought a lot of quality players and you can see it was a game where they created chances. We needed to stay in the game and in the second half we scored two wonderful goals.

on how much the clean sheet means to him...

I think it has been coming because at Newcastle we did very well and conceded in the last minute. We were talking about the importance of not conceding goals because it helps and today it was a good clean sheet because in the first half in particular we were not on the front foot and we had to stay in the game.

on making some good saves...

Well, I made some saves - some very good saves, some very important saves and   even in the second half at 2-0 they put a lot of balls in and for me it was important to come for crosses and clear the danger because they are big and their delivery is really good. Everybody had to do their bit and obviously I am happy that I played my part.

on the rate the defence is improving...

Ewe still have things we need to work on as a whole team because everyone defends and everyone attacks and we know we gave them too many chances in the first half. But sometimes you need to find your way in a game not to concede and everyone needs to understand there are difficult parts of the game where you have to stick together and stay in the game. The most satisfying thing is that we knew how to do it.
