We’ll be looking to seal back-to-back wins in the Premier League 2 on Friday when we face Tottenham Hotspur at the Lamex Stadium.
THE STORY SO FAR
Our youngsters delivered a fine goalscoring display in their last PL2 fixture, firing three past West Ham before the break - but unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions, the fixture was abandoned at half-time.
Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring with a flicked finish, before Joe Willock latched on to a loose ball and fired home what would have been his 10th goal of the season.
Dinos Mavropanos made it three with the final move of the first half, but it would ultimately count for nothing, as the fog thickened and conditions worsened.
We’re currently eighth in the PL2 table on 20 points having won five, drawn five and lost five. A win could see us climb up to sixth.
THE OPPOSITION
Tottenham are struggling for form, having won just one of their last seven outings in the PL2.
This has seen Wayne Burnett’s side drop down to 10th, with just four wins from 16 fixtures.
In addition to this, they’re also the lowest goalscorers in the division with only 18 to their name this season, averaging 1.12 per game.
Midfielder Jack Roles is currently their highest scoring player in the PL2 (3), after Shayon Harrison (4) and Kazaiah Sterling (4) completed loan moves during the January window.
The last time we faced Tottenham we ran out 2-1 winners at Emirates Stadium, thanks to goals from Joe Willock and Tyreece John-Jules. Harrison scored a late consolation goal for the visitors.
ONE TO WATCH
John-Jules will be hopeful of leading the line on Friday night, with the experienced Eddie Nketiah in Belarus with the first team.
The pacy forward made his return from injury in the FA Youth Cup last Saturday against West Bromwich Albion, so now he’ll be keen to continue his development at under-23 level.
Prior to injury, the youngster had started 14 times across all competitions this season.
John-Jules also turned 18 on Thursday, so what better way to celebrate than with a goal against our north London rivals?
