Opposition teams confirmed for Emirates Cup

We’re delighted to announce that Lyon and Bayern Munich Women will join us to compete in the Emirates Cup on July 28.

This year’s revamped competition will see our men's team and Arsenal Women face off against world-class opposition.

Joe Montemurro’s WSL champions will go head-to-head with Champions League semi-finalists Bayern Munich to start the day, kick off at 12.30pm.

Unai Emery’s men will then face Ligue 1 side Lyon in their only pre-season match at Emirates Stadium, kick off at 3.15pm.

Fans will be able to enjoy the two games, with one ticket giving access to both matches with tickets priced from only £25 for adults and £12 for concessions.

Arsenal Members will receive exclusive first rights on purchasing tickets. Gold and Platinum Members can purchase their own seats for the day from 10am on Monday, May 20; Silver Members from 10am on Thursday, May 23 and Red Members from 3pm on Thursday, May 23. Full ticket details can be found here.

Managing director Vinai Venkatesham said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the return of the Emirates Cup in a new format in July. Supporters will have the first chance to see both our women’s and men’s teams play at Emirates Stadium on the same day before the start of the new season.

“We are particularly thrilled that the schedule has allowed us to feature our highly successful women’s team as part of this event. The match will follow this summer’s World Cup where many of our players will have featured and will be another indicator of the rapid growth of the women’s game.

“Emirates Airline has been the proud sponsor of the Emirates Cup since the first tournament was held in 2007 and it’s great that Emirates are continuing their long-standing commitment to Arsenal Football Club through their support of our pre-season activities.”

Emirates divisional senior vice president, corporate communications, marketing and brand, Boutros Boutros added: “The Emirates Cup has always been an exciting event in our long and successful partnership with Arsenal Football Club, and we are looking forward to the competition returning again in July. With Lyon coming to London to play Arsenal and also with Bayern Munich Women and Arsenal Women kicking the day off, Emirates are delighted to support another great pre-season event this year.”

As previously announced, the first team will also be playing four matches in the United States in July as part of our pre-season preparations. We will be competing in the International Champions Cup, with matches against Bayern Munich, AS Roma and Real Madrid in Los Angeles, Charlotte and Washington D.C. respectively. These matches will be preceded with a friendly against MLS side Colorado Rapids in Denver.

Further details on our pre-season schedule will be announced in due course.
