WHAT HAPPENED

A late strike from Josh Dasilva saw off Dinamo Zagreb, as we picked up a 2-1 win in the Premier League International Cup.

Steve Gatting was able to call upon the likes of Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah for our first knockout tie of the tournament.

It was the former of who broke the deadlock, with Willock powering the ball past Dinko Horkas.

The Zagreb goalkeeper had previously denied Nketiah after slick interplay between the forward and Nelson, but he had no answer to Willock’s rasping strike.

The visitors pulled level in the 76th minute, with Miklic Borna scoring the equaliser 16 minutes after stepping off the bench.

But there was to be late drama, with Dasilva finding the back of the net with just three minutes remaining.

We now progress to the final four of the Premier League International Cup, with details to follow of our next opponents.

WHAT’S NEXT

Gatting’s side are back in action against Chelsea at Meadow Park on Friday, March 2. Kick-off is at 7.05pm (UK time).
