‘I’m more frustrated than disappointed'

Arsene Wenger hailed his side’s commitment and spirit against Liverpool but admitted he was “frustrated” to concede a last-minute equaliser.

The Gunners twice came from a goal down to take the lead at the start of the second half through Olivier Giroud, before Joe Allen injury-time strike meant they had to settle for a point.

While Wenger was pleased with aspects of his side’s display, he was disappointed not to come away with the win.

"I could smell every time we went into the final third we could be dangerous"

"I felt we started a little apprehensive and after that we were twice down and came back twice,” he told Arsenal Player. "Overall I’m pleased with our commitment, with our spirit but disappointed with the way they came back to 3-3.

"I could smell every time we went into the final third we could be dangerous. For us it was more to get on top defensively and overall we managed to get into their half and once we were in their half we felt we could score goals.

"At 3-2 we had two or three opportunities to make it 4-2 but we didn’t make to many good individual decisions. I’m frustrated more than disappointed by that basically to concede like we did in the last minute - that should not happen."
