If you ask Tabea Kemme to name her toughest ever opponent, the chances are she’d say Vivianne Miedema.
The duo locked horns during their time in Germany with Turbine Potsdam and Bayern Munich respectively, and Kemme is relieved that they will now be sharing the same dressing room.
“With Lisa Evans and Vivianne Miedema in the German league, I played matches against Bayern Munich and Miedema,” she told Arsenal Player.
“It was 90 minutes of thinking, ‘OK there’s Vivianne Miedema, she can score every minute, in the last minute’ and now I will play with her, so it’s easier to think about now that I’m playing with her.
“I think it’s good for the start, to come into the club where you know somebody and you can talk about the things you’ve learned from your team-mates. For example, you come to another country where you’re driving on the left side, so that could be funny! It’s just the little things that you compare with your team-mates or your friends who come to the club first.
“I talked to Lisa a lot and of course we spoke on the phone. I spoke to her about the normal things in life such as what you need when you come to a new country, to play for Arsenal, and she said a lot about the club. She said, ‘You have to come, we want to achieve big things in the future and you can help us’. It was a good talk with Lisa.”
