‘I felt a real connection to the project’

Janni Arnth

When Janni Arnth knew she was leaving Linkopings, there was only one place she wanted to go.

The Denmark defender had reached the end of her contract in Sweden and was looking for a new challenge when she met with Joe Montemurro - and her mind was soon made up.

“Me and Joe had a talk and I felt a connection to the project,” she told Arsenal.com. “I’ve been following Arsenal and I can see a clear project and that they’re progressing. I’m really grateful to have been given that opportunity and I’m buzzing to get started.

“It’s another culture, another league and another way of playing and of course there is an adaptability process in that regard. But to be honest, I’m just looking forward to playing with the girls and adding to the progress that Arsenal has started.

“Winning titles with the club is always what I aim for. I have done that in my former clubs and I have also played Champions League the last many years. I will contribute with everything I got to now win with Arsenal so we can compete in the Champions League next season.

“I like Joe’s commitment, energy and the positive mindset that he has about all of it,” Arnth added. “His playing style suits me very well. I really look forward to work with Joe and develop myself and the club under his leadership now and in the future.”
