'I always feel safe and secure with Lotte'

We may have seen a glimpse into the future on Sunday afternoon.

Academy graduates Anna Patten and Lotte Wubben-Moy lined up next to each other at centre back in our 10-0 Vitality Women's FA Cup win over Gillingham, with the former also scoring her first senior goal for us.

We caught up with Patten after the game - here's everything she had to say:

on scoring first goal...

It was a great feeling. I didn't think it was going to happen coming into the game, if I'm honest, playing centre back. I took the opportunity that I had and I'm very happy to score.

on how it meant as a childhood Gooner...

It means a lot. It's pretty much a dream come true to score. I'm really happy - and with my left foot!

on Vivianne Miedema...

It's great training with Viv. She's obviously a top player and makes it very hard for us in training day in, day out. I'm very happy today. I was on her team and she gave me that assist.

on our objectives out there today...

We were just told to work on the things we've been focusing on in training individually. If you can strike the ball with your laces, move the ball quick, get lots of touches on the ball, lots of passes and moving them around to open up the gaps.

on starting alongside Lotte and finishing alongside Leah...

It was great. Me and Lotte have played together so many times at centre back and I always feel very safe and secure with her beside me. It was great to start off the game with her and then have Leah come on as well. It was great.
