‘89’ film celebrates historic night at Anfield

Plenty of us have fond memories of that night at Anfield in 1989 - and a new film released next month, titled ‘89’, celebrates one of the greatest nights in our history.

THAT 2-0 victory at Anfield on 26 May 1989, secured us the league title from Liverpool in the most dramatic fashion.

With unprecedented access to George Graham, Lee Dixon, Tony Adams and Michael Thomas – as well as contributions from avid fans Nick Hornby, Dermot O’Leary and Alan Davies – ‘89’ is a nostalgic, emotional tribute to the game.

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon and football correspondent Amy Lawrence are executive producers.

Lee says of the game: “It stands alone as the best moment I ever experienced in football. A unique time in football history threw up an unimaginable finale. To this day people talk about where they were when it happened. 89 is our side of one of the most dramatic and emotionally charged nights in football, told from our vantage point inside the dressing room and on the pitch.”

The film is released on 20 November, 2017.
