Five nominations at London Football Awards

Drawn Out cast

We were nominated five times at the prestigious London Football Awards, with Vivianne Miedema triumphing as Women’s Player of the Year.

Matteo Guendouzi (Young Player of the Year), Joe Montemurro (Manager of the Year) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Premier League Player of the Year) were our other football nominations.

While Arsenal in the Community were shortlisted for Community Project of the Year to recognise their involvement in the youth film Drawn Out.

The film, which currently has 2.4m views on YouTube, features young people from Islington, who we have worked with for a number of years.

“We had a fantastic evening,” commented Arsenal in the Community coordinator Jack Ironside, who led the project and attended the ceremony with a number of young people from Drawn Out.

“Although it was disappointing not to win the award, it was fantastic that the group’s achievements were recognised at such a prestigious awards ceremony. Drawn Out means a lot to these young people and their community.

“The group have done brilliantly well and we are extremely proud to have worked with some of these young people for nine years. We hope that this project will give the group the confidence to take up more positive opportunities in the future.”
