Carter - My favourite cup final memory

Danielle Carter with the FA Women's Cup

Danielle Carter has played in her fair share of cup finals, but one memory in particular stands out.

The England forward was the matchwinner at Wembley as we overcame Chelsea to lift a record 14th FA Cup in 2016, and is hoping to experience the same emotions in Wednesday’s FA WSL Continental Cup final against Manchester City.

“My fondest memory is probably the last FA Cup final that we were in,” she told Arsenal.com. “That was quite a special day. I think I might have scored!

“That was a good day and I had quite a lot of family there too, so it was good for me to be able to score at Wembley in front of them all, and get the win for another trophy.

“I actually had to sort out 70 tickets [beforehand]! All for friends and family, no joke. There was a lot of pressure on me! It went from me telling my mum that we needed to submit our forms, thinking she’ll say five or 10, but then she came back with a whole list of people.”
