Euro 2020: Tierney stars in Scotland draw

It was a big game for Kieran Tierney on Friday night, as his Scotland side came face to face with England in a tense Group D clash at Wembley.

Our No 3 started on the left side of Scotland's back three, and produced a number of vital challenges and interceptions as the visitors managed to shut out the Three Lions at their home stadium. Bukayo Saka was unused for England.

Tierney very nearly claimed an assist when he overlapped Andrew Robertson on the left-hand side to find Stephen O'Donnell in the box, but Jordan Pickford got down sharply to keep out the Motherwell defender's volley.

The crucial point means that Scotland's chances of qualifying for the knock-out round rest on their final group-stage match against Croatia on Tuesday evening. The game kicks off at Hampden Park at 8pm (UK), with Saka's England in action at the same time against group leaders Czech Republic.

The next Gunner to feature in the competition could be Bernd Leno on Saturday afternoon. His Germany side face Portugal at Allianz Arena at 5pm (UK), looking to bounce back from their matchday-one defeat to France.
