Extra: Wenger on Ranieri, Per, Giroud

Read extra quotes from Arsene Wenger's press conference ahead of Sunday's game against Leicester City:

on the getting back to winning ways against Bournemouth…
We didn’t win for a while so it was a bit of a relief and the belief in the team is stronger which is important for us to win on Sunday. We are back to a normal level.

on Ranieri…
I’m pleased he is doing well, he has done well in England before. He has done well wherever he has worked.

on never losing to Ranieri…
I hope it continues!

on the early kick off…
That is the uncertainty, it is not a early kick off, it is a very early kick off! Sometimes it is true that these games can take a while to start.

on Mertesacker not playing at Bournemouth…
It’s difficult for me to go into any individual assessment. I think he has played many games. Sometimes I use a different formula. Per Mertesacker is a great leader, a very respected one in our dressing room, but I have three entire backs and I adapt a little bit to their level of form, to the number of games they’ve played and to the opponents we play against. What are their strengths and where can they hurt us?

on GIroud going a month without a goal…
Not so much because on Sunday he gave the ball to Mesut Ozil on the first goal. An assist or goal is, for me, exactly the same for a striker.
