Loan Watch: Afobe strikes, Olsson stars

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. With the 2014/15 campaign now underway, seven Gunners are currently away from the club.

Benik Afobe played 90 minutes and scored a penalty as MK Dons lost 2-1 against Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup. The forward opened the scoring from the spot with 20 minutes to play but Michael Higdon struck twice to end the Dons’ cup run.

Aarhus Fremad 1-5 Midtjylland
Kris Olsson played 90 minutes and was named man of the match in Midtjylland’s Danish Cup win against Aarhus Fremad. Ebere Onuachu struck first for the visitors before Marcos Urena doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time. Tim Sparv, Onuachu and Marco Larsen then struck in quick succession before Aarhus pulled one back with a minute to play.

Go Ahead Eagles 0-0 FC Twente
Ryo Miyaichi was an unused substitute as Twente beat Go Ahead Eagles in the KNVB Cup on penalties. Sonny Stevens saved a spot-kick from the home side and Twente scored all five of theirs to reach the last 16.
