Internationals: Giroud, Koscielny, Xhaka

Four of our first-team squad were in international action on Saturday night - three representing their senior sides and one playing at Under-20 level.

Read on to find out how they performed:

Olivier Giroud scored twice - becoming one of France's top 10 goalscorers of all-time - and played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win at Luxembourg. The 30-year-old led the attack for Les Bleus and opened the scoring after 31 minutes. The visitors immediately responded with Aurelien Joachim converting from the penalty spot. Antoine Griezmann restored France's lead with a spot-kick of his own, before Giroud got his second goal of the game. Laurent Koscielny also played the full 90 minutes, but was denied a clean sheet as a result of Joachim's penalty.

Granit Xhaka played the entirety of Switzerland's 1-0 win over Latvia. Granit lined up alongside Gelson Fernandes in central midfield, but it was one of Xhaka's former Borussia Monchengladbach team-mates, Josip Drmic, who scored the game's only goal.
