Bola features in Bristol Rovers win

We had six players in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

Lucas, Marc Bola, Kelechi Nwakali, Stephy Mavididi and Takuma Asano all made appearances, while Emiliano Martinez was an unused substitute.

Lucas played the full 90 minutes of Deportivo La Coruna’s 4-1 loss at Espanyol. Leo Baptistao opened the scoring for the hosts and Alejandro Arribas scored an own goal before the break. Celso Borges pulled one back for Deportivo shortly after the interval, but two goals from Gerard Moreno sealed the points for Espanyol.

Bola played the entirety of Bristol Rovers' 3-2 home win over Blackpool. Although the visitors took the lead through Kyle Vassell early in the first half, Billy Bodin drew the hosts level before the break - and two late goals from Ryan Sweeney and Ellis Harrison secured the win for the Pirates.

Nwakali featured in the final 14 minutes of VVV Venlo’s 1-1 draw at home to PEC Zwolle. The visitors took the lead in the first half through Kingsley Ehizibue, but a goal from Clint Leemans shortly after the hour mark levelled the scores.

Mavididi came on for the final 22 minutes of Preston’s 0-0 draw with Millwall.

Asano came on for the final six minutes of Stuttgart’s 0-0 draw with Augsburg.

Martinez was an unused substitute in Getafe’s 4-0 win against Villarreal.
