A 17th-minute strike from Mohammad Dabre and an own goal from Kido Taylor-Hart cancelled out Joel Ideho's equaliser to hand Swindon Town all three points in the opening game of EFL Trophy Southern Group F on Tuesday night.

The Gunners started the game brightly, nicking the ball from goalkeeper Lewis Ward on the edge of the box before Mika Biereth fashioned a good chance for himself - spinning in-behind down the right channel and hitting the post from close range.

After surviving the early scare it was Ben Garner's side who took the lead. Alex Gilbert crossed from the left after a favourable deflection put the ball into his path and Dabre was quick to stick out a leg and bundle the ball home.

Then, just 10 minutes from the break, Arsenal were level. Taylor-Hart spread the play wide to Ideho on the right-hand side. Our 18-year-old forward faked to shoot on his right before switching the ball onto his left and firing low past Ward at his near post.

After the break, both teams had chances but it was the home side that took the advantage, restoring their lead on the 69th-minute as Patino turned the ball into his own net.

Substitute Jack Payne's low corner found a way through the crowded penalty area to Taylor-Hart, before a cruel deflection took it beyond the reach of Ovie Ejeheri and over the line.

The result leaves Arsenal third in Group F after one game.
