'Once it starts, it's unknown territory'

Having appeared in two Emirates FA Cup semi-finals in the past three seasons, Arsene Wenger knows exactly how he wants to prepare for Sunday’s showdown against Manchester City.

But while the Arsenal manager feels there is an advantage to having had such recent experiences at Wembley Stadium, he says that will all be gone once the first whistle goes.

"I would say it plays a part in the preparation, as we know where we want to stay, we know how and where we want to go, we know how we want to prepare," he told Arsenal Player.

"So there is a ritual there that gets you into the game. When the game starts it's unknown territory, because nobody - no matter how long you are in the game - can ever predict exactly what will happen, but in the preparation, yes it plays a part."
