Eddie Nketiah continued his fine form for England Under-21s with another goal, following on from his hat-trick against Kosovo on Friday. Our forward burst through to open the scoring after 27 minutes as the Young Lions beat Austria Under-21s 2-1 at the Keine Sorgen Arena.

Reiss Nelson also featured, playing 79 minutes before making way for Todd Cantwell with 10 minutes to play. The result moves Aidy Boothroyd’s men six points clear at the summit of Group Three.

Matteo Guendouzi captained France U-21s to a 2-1 victory over Azerbaijan. Our midfielder did well to earn his side a 25th-minute penalty to open the scoring before Amine Gouiri struck late to secure the win.

It was a special day for Eddie Nektiah as he captained England Under-21s on Friday as they beat Kosovo 6-0, with our academy graduate grabbing a perfect second-half hat-trick.

England had to wait until the 51st minute for the floodgates to open at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina. Nektiah latched on to Tom Davies' cross, before firing twice more within 10 minutes to take home the match ball.

Reiss Nelson also got himself on the scoresheet. It took the 20-year-old just three minutes to find the back of the net after replacing Todd Cantwell in midfield late on. Bukayo Saka started the game but was substituted for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi with half an hour to play.

Matteo Guendouzi was also in action, playing 90 minutes for France Under-21s as they beat Georgia 2-0.
