'I'm so pleased to get off the mark'

Eddie Nketiah went into the Premier League 2 encounter with Leicester City having not scored in the competition, but he ended the night with a hat-trick as Steve Gatting's side won 3-0 at Meadow Park.

The 17-year-old forward opened the scoring with a curling effort, then drilling a low second past goakeeper Daniel Iverson before completing his treble with a close range strike.

Here's what he had to say to ArsenalPlayer post-match:

on scoring a hat-trick..
I’m happy to score three goals, my first three goals [in Premier League 2]. In other games I feel like I’ve been getting good opportunities to score, so I’m happy to finally get off the mark and hopefully I can just carry on from here.

on scoring different types of goals…
You never know where the ball will come or what position in you’ll be in to try and score, so in training I try to work on it a lot. Scoring from different angles… and yeah, I’m happy that it paid off.

on making himself hard to ignore…
I feel like I’ve done myself well to be in contention to start the next game, so hopefully I can just train hard and keep my place in the team.

on Hugo Keto…
He was brilliant today, I thought he made some great saves as you said. I’m just happy to get three points and the clean sheet, and also my three goals.

on winning three in a row…
We’re all confident. We’re training well and we’re in a good run of form, so hopefully we’ll just keep going and really charge on from here.

on being eager for the next game…
We’re all buzzing for the next game. Hopefully we can carry on our good form and keep climbing up the table.
