Thirteen of our players were called up for the first international break of the season.

Scroll down to find out how they fared.

Beth Mead, Jordan Nobbs and Leah Williamson

England just needed to beat second-placed Wales to qualify for next summer’s World Cup, and three second-half goals ensured that the Lionesses, starring Jordan Nobbs as vice-captain, booked their tickets to France in style.

Still unbeaten going into their final Group 1 game, Phil Neville handed senior debuts to Beth Mead and Centre of Excellence graduate Leah Williamson against Kazakhstan - and both of them impressed.

Mead gave England the perfect start from the penalty spot inside 10 minutes and then was on hand to score the penultimate goal in England’s 6-0 win. Williamson looked assured at centre back to preserve the Lionesses’ clean sheet, while Nobbs was an unused substitute in Pavlodar.

Lisa Evans, Kim Little, Emma Mitchell and Lia Walti

Scotland knew that they needed to win both of their qualifiers to be within a chance of qualifying for their very first World Cup, but even they wouldn’t have expected things to go quite as well as they did.

First Lisa Evans set up Erin Cuthbert to give the Scots the lead against Lia Walti’s Switzerland, before Little pounced on another Evans assist to double their advantage. Lara Dickenmann then pulled one back but Scotland held on to secure three crucial points, meaning Shelley Kerr’s side only needed to better Switzerland’s next result to qualify automatically.

Little struck again as Scotland beat Albania 2-1 while, without Walti, Switzerland drew 0-0 against Poland in Mielec to guarantee the that the Scots topped Group 2 and secured a place at next summer’s World Cup. Emma Mitchell also played the full 90 minutes in both qualifiers, while Walti’s Switzerland will now go into Friday’s play-off draw.

Dominique Bloodworth, Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van de Donk, Sari van Veenendaal

After winning the Women’s European Championship in 2017, many expected the Netherlands to breeze through World Cup qualifying, but in reality it has been a much tougher task for the Leeuwinnen.

Despite only dropping points to the Republic of Ireland in Group 3, the Netherlands only needed to avoid defeat to qualification rivals Norway to book their place at next summer’s tournament.

But the hosts started well in Oslo and were two goals up within the opening six minutes. Vivianne Miedema pulled one back with her 51st international goal on the half-hour mark, but Norway’s win means the Netherlands now go into Friday’s play-off draw. Sari van Veenendaal captained the Leeuwinnen, while Dominique Bloodworth and Danielle van de Donk also started.

Katie McCabe and Louise Quinn

Having already seen their World Cup qualifying campaign come to a premature end with consecutive defeats against Norway, the Republic of Ireland were playing for pride in the final Group 3 clash with Northern Ireland.

In form after her opening-day Continental Tyres Cup brace against West Ham United, Katie McCabe continued her scoring streak with another two in Dublin, smashing into the roof of the net from close range before scoring the Republic of Ireland’s final goal of their 4-0 win from the penalty spot. Louise Quinn also completed the full 90 minutes at centre back.
