Tomas Rosicky cannot wait to be reunited with our supporters at Emirates Stadium.
The 37-year-old returns for our legends game against Real Madrid on September 8, having become a fan favourite during his decade in north London.
Plenty of memories stand out when Rosicky looks back on his time with us, but he will never forget how difficult it was to say goodbye to our supporters back in May 2016.
“It was very emotional when you leave a place and obviously I knew it for a longer period of time that it would be my end at Arsenal,” he told Arsenal.com.
“But still it will get you when you know that you’re walking on the pitch for one last time and your teammates give you a guard of honour. You say goodbye to the fans, it’s difficult obviously. Every bit is difficult, particularly at the end when you have to leave something that you love.
“The people will see if the player loves the club or cares, and it’s the same when it’s opposite. You as a player feel when the people like you or not, and they like you for a reason! I think they could see straight away that I was fighting for the badge and I was delighted that I could play for Arsenal.
“I loved the place, I loved the club and the people will see that, so they could see that every team I played I gave everything and I was fighting for the badge. It’s not as difficult as the people think and that’s how I’ve always seen it.
“It was a perfect fit of me and Arsenal together, and how the whole club is based on values which I shared from the first to last minute. It was my values as well. The style of football and everything that goes on around the club I felt in love, and I will be a Gunner forever, that’s for sure.”
