Chioma Ubogagu is delighted with the instant impact she has made at Arsenal Ladies.

The American forward combined with Natalia Pablos Sanchon to score the winner against Birmingham City on Sunday and maintain the Gunners’ unbeaten record on the road in the Women’s Super League this season.

Ubogagu has now scored all of Arsenal’s away goals in the league during her debut campaign and the 22-year-old is happy with the fast start she has made to life in north London.

"The standard of football in this division is very high and anyone can beat anyone else on their day"

“I was just pleased to get the opportunity to play 90 minutes,” she said.

“It was a hard game against Birmingham but that didn’t surprise me too much. The standard of football in this division is very high and anyone can beat anyone else on their day.

“I’m new to the team and if I’m getting a start in our away games that’s great, but it was about winning the game against Birmingham.

“We needed a good result after last week’s defeat by Liverpool and this leaves us well placed just a couple of points behind leaders Chelsea.”

Arsenal Ladies' next home match is on Sunday, July 26 against Notts County. Kick-off isn at 2pm and you can buy your discounted online tickets here
